Basra Turath Center Visits ISCA to Expand Academic Cooperation

A delegation from the Basra Turath Center visited the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy.
On Sunday, 29 November, a group of managers from the Basra Turath Center—affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Abalfazl Abbas in Iraq—visited the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy, toured the Academy’s permanent exhibition, and held a joint meeting with the heads of several research centers.

According to the International Affairs Office of the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy, during the meeting, several of the Academy’s managers outlined its activities and research capacities and introduced potential areas of cooperation between the Academy and the Holy Shrine.

Sheikh Ammar Hilali, head of the Department of Islamic and Human Knowledge Affairs at the Holy Shrine, expressed his satisfaction with visiting the Academy and explained the objectives of his trip to Iran. He stated that one aim of this visit was to invite Iranian academic centers and researchers to take part in the Congress on the Scientific Works of Karbala in the 12th Century, as well as the Basra Scientific Works Congress, which will be held in Karbala and Basra respectively.

He also identified the establishment of a sustainable communication bridge between the Knowledge Center of the Abbasid Shrine and major academic institutions in Iran—especially the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy of the Islamic Propagation Office in Qom—as another key objective of his visit.

Sheikh Hilali emphasized that the Knowledge Center of the Holy Shrine is fully prepared for all forms of academic cooperation with Iranian research institutions, including in the publication of books and journals in Islamic studies, as well as participation in the aforementioned scholarly congresses.
