Research Center for Islamic Documents and Information Management

Research Center for Islamic Documents and Information Management is the result of over thirty years of research, study, information dissemination, and management of Islamic information within the framework of modern information technologies. It began its activities under the title “Thesaurus Unit” in 1992 and merged with the Information Dissemination Department in 2005. Finally, in 2016, it was upgraded to the Research Center for Islamic Documents and Information Management, continuing its activities based on scientific and up-to-date standards.

Mission

Organizing information and managing the knowledge produced at the Islamic Propagation Office of Qom Seminary and the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy (including: storage, retrieval, and dissemination) to empower Islamic sciences and ensure precise and rapid access to information in this field.

Objectives

  1. Analyzing topics and determining the type of relationships between them within the body of knowledge of Islamic sciences.
  2. Creating a unified policy for organizing Islamic information and managing information in Islamic information centers.
  3. Localizing information systems in accordance with the characteristics of Islamic sciences and related fields.
  4. Supporting research and development by providing the capability to identify and select useful information needed in the field of Islamic sciences.
  5. Contributing to development in research by adopting an ontological perspective on the pyramid of Islamic sciences and discovering the geography of its topics.
